Name: Meredith Sandrik
Title: Information systems and service center manager
Department: Facilities Management
Academic Degrees: B.A., philosophy
How long you have worked at Fresno State? I started as a student assistant in 2002, so 20 years this year.
What is your most notable accomplishment in your field, and why was it important? Helping to bring on the needed Service Center unit in Facilities Management has been crucial and will continue to serve the campus as we make needed improvements to our facility. My role and this unit have never existed in this fashion before now, so it has been a fulfilling challenge to make it a reality.
What are you most passionate about in your field and why? I am passionate about being part of this team of skilled trades and services, project managers, and dedicated professionals who work behind the scenes to provide the inspiring environment that is so important in Fresno State's charge to educate.
What is a memorable moment you had at your job? This is a tough one because there are so many. I think in the beginning of COVID, when Facilities Management really had to pull together and up the ante, I saw what a truly cohesive team could accomplish in such an uncertain time.
What do you like to do for fun in your spare time? I enjoy writing poetry, essays and fiction when I'm not chasing little ones. I also love reorganizing. I'm a bit of an organization nerd!
What is something interesting about you that most people don’t know? I'm a second degree black belt in Shou Shu.
Is there something else you would like to share that was not asked? Campus News is such a great idea and I'm happy to be part of it this month. Thank you all for your wonderful work.
