The 2026 Fresno State Violin and Viola Festival will feature the world renowned guest artists, violinist Giora Schmidt, and violist, Che-Yen Chen, as well as Cristian Fatu. The festival will include master classes by the guest artists, a violin and viola ensemble, and two wonderful concerts on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Guest artists will join faculty members, Dr. Limor Toren-Immerman, Dr. Thomas Loewenheim, and Dr. Peter Klimo, for an evening of some of the most beautiful chamber music for strings and piano: Gabriel Dupont’s "Poème for Piano Quintet" and César Franck's "Piano Quintet in F minor."

On Saturday, the guest artist will join the Fresno State Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Thomas Loewenheim, for a performance of Max Bruch’s "Violin Concerto," and William Walton’s "Viola Concerto." The concert will also feature the Violin and Viola Festival Ensemble, as well as Alexander Glazunov’s "Scènes de ballet" with members of the festival joining the orchestra for a large celebration of music.
