NASPA, the national organization for Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, awarded the Learning Center‘s tutoring program the Gold Excellence Award for its innovative tutor training which uses project-based learning to impact student success.
The tutoring program provides open source learning to students and tutors make studying simple. The tutoring program has proven to improve grade outcomes for students.
“This special recognition supports the innovative work of our tutoring program which centers on creating a positive learning environment that is inclusive for all Fresno State students,” said Mai Kou Vang, interim director of the Fresno State Learning Center.
The tutoring program at Fresno State is led by academic support coordinator William Hardaway and academic support specialist Anthony Losongco.
