Updates, cancellations and where to go for information

Since the emergence of novel coronavirus, or COVID-19, Fresno State has engaged in ongoing planning with guidance by the CSU Chancellor's Office, as well as state and local public health officials regarding classroom instruction, near-term large events and travel.
On March 12, President Joseph I. Castro announced the cancellation of in-person classes starting today, March 16, through Thursday, March 19, as faculty transition to virtual instruction. This alternative instruction period begins Friday, March 20 and is expected to continue through Monday, April 27.
“This decision was made with an abundance of caution and care for our campus community and after deliberation with the CSU Chancellor’s Office, the Academic Senate, the Joint Labor Council, local K-12 and community college leaders and local public health officials, while keeping your well-being and student success in mind,” President Castro said in an email to the campus community.
Most students won’t be on campus for the next six weeks, but the University will be open for non-academic business. During this period, there may be a lot of questions from staff, faculty and students.
