Positive Psychology
1 – 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, Zoom
Research has shown that happiness and positivity lead to success. During this workshop we will answer the question of “what fuels success?” If we work hard, become successful then we will be happy; however, the formula is backwards. If we choose happiness, the brain works better, and we become successful. Join this engaging and interactive learning experience on how positive psychology can lead to personal and professional success. We will explore the happiness advantage principles that can help shift our mindset through positive psychology. Please click here to register on CSU Learn.
Self-Coaching
1 – 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, Zoom
Self-coaching is about feeling better and doing better. Everything we do in our lives is because we want to feel better. When we give, it feels good. When we help others, it feels good. When we accomplish something, it feels good. Whenever we feel bad, we are usually seeking a way to feel good. Through coaching ourselves we can feel good much more of the time and be our best version of ourselves in every interaction and situation. By coaching ourselves, we find what is and is not working in our lives. We find that trying to change the external circumstances to change how we feel is impossible. We find that our thinking is the most important thing we can pay attention to feel better now. Self-coaching 101 teaches you the basics of how to do this and the basics are enough. Upon completion of this module, you will be able to:
- Appreciate the value of self-coaching in terms of its impact on our feelings, behaviors and outcomes.
- Understand the self-coaching model, with particular emphasis on the impact of thoughts on feelings and our actions and our results.
- Develop the ability to monitor your thoughts and adjust, as necessary, thereby improving how we show up in our daily lives.
