Saved My Bacon!
Nancy Gomez, College of Sciences and Math, Dean's Office
During our last event, as we were setting up our easels, we realized we were missing two. I quickly contacted Nancy from CSM because I knew she had a similar event coming up and figured she might have a few extras. Nancy not only said yes, but she also surprised us by bringing them to the Satellite Student Union. Wow, while we were feeling stressed out for a moment, she turned things around. Bam! Like a genie, she was there to save our bacon. Nancy, you are not only kind but also demonstrate that when in need, you are there to support them, regardless of how busy you may be. Thank you so much for your support.
Matt Montez, Library Services
Matt saved the day when a contractor hired to install some racks discovered the floor wasn't completely level. They proposed $3,000 to fix the floor for us. Matt countered by saying that all measurements were done by their team when doing the estimate and that any fixes should be done by them as part of the job. They agreed, and thus Matt saved the university $3,000. Thank you, Matt!

A big shout-out to Mikaela from the criminology department, who, without hesitation, stepped up to help during our student event by greeting and checking in faculty, students and their guests. Mikaela attended our student event as a guest but ended up volunteering during a crucial part of the day. A big thank you, Mikaela!
