Jaime Horio has been appointed as interim director of Environmental Health & Safety/Risk Management.
Horio has extensive experience in Environmental Health and Safety and is a proud alumnus of Fresno State. He first worked here as an intern for Environmental Health and Safety in 2005 and was appointed as a specialist in 2018. In this position, Horio has been responsible for coordinating the Radioactive Materials Program, providing oversight of environmental programs, including hazardous waste, air permits and storm water. He was an essential part of the team that conducted case investigations and provided campus guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to joining campus, Horio worked for the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District and in private manufacturing at E&J Gallo Winery.
Horio graduated in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in health science, environmental health and industrial hygiene. He is a certified registered environmental health specialist, water treatment operator and water distribution operator.
