Men of Color & Their Unique Needs: Strategies for Support, Engagement & Completion
Wed., June 27, 11 - 12:30 p.m., Library 3212
Countless men of color are perpetually battling against perceived educational inferiority, racial bias/profiling both on and off campus, social media attacks and pervasive negative racial stereotyping. As college campuses become more diverse, the more inclusive and equitable your campus is, the better your men of color recruitment, retention and engagement will be.
Activity Classes
New! Mindfulness
Tues. & Thurs., 12:10 - 12:25 p.m., ED 360
Mindfulness includes many different types of meditation, relaxation, and other ways to de-stress and enjoy the present moment. Sessions vary from mindfulness scripts read aloud, body scan narratives, and easy desk stretching. You do not need a change of clothes; we will be working the mind, not the body. Bringing a yoga mat is encouraged for comfortable seating, but is not required.
Circuit Training
Tues. & Thurs., 3:45 - 4:45 p.m., South Gym 134
Combine interval training, full body weight exercises, and core workouts to strengthen and tone your whole body. Please bring appropriate workout attire and gym shoes for your safety. Circuit Training will not be offered in July.
*Aqua classes begin Mon., July 2! Learn more about each class and register here.
