Effective June 22, 2018, California will restrict State-Funded and State-Sponsored travel to Oklahoma.
California Attorney General Xavier Becerra announced on June 1, 2018 that effective June 22, 2018, California will prohibit state-funded and state-sponsored travel to Oklahoma as a result of discriminatory legislation Oklahoma signed into law on May 11, 2018. Oklahoma’s law is scheduled to go into effect on November 1, 2018. For travel purposes, please be aware that once a state is added to the list of banned states, it becomes retroactive as of January 1, 2017. A trip planned after January 1. 2017 and not completed by June 21, 2018, cannot be paid for by state funds unless it meets one of the exceptions detailed on the California Attorney General's website.
