Introduction to Strengths for New Employees

If your team or department has already taken the strengths assessment, now is your time to learn your top five strengths! Take the assessment prior to the session and come ready to discover how to lead with your top five strengths and reach your potential. Understand how your strengths uniquely work together, and gain a better understanding and appreciating of others' strengths to work better with your team. Principles of Supervision
Principles of Supervision for Managers and Leads
7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 25 and Wednesday, June 26, Smittcamp
This workshop will focus on developing supervisory skills in a higher education environment. Through learning, discussion, practice, and reflection, participants will gain a greater awareness of their own supervisory skills and learn strategies to more effectively lead others. The workshop will guide learners through five modules focused on:
- Managing Yourself
- Promoting Communication
- Managing the Work
- Understanding Your Management Style
- Creating a Positive and Productive Work Environment
This course requires attendance at two full days and will require some independent work and follow up with an "accountability partner." Participants must commit to attending both days to complete the training.
Breakfast, lunch, snacks, a workbook and an online supervisor toolkit will be provided. Enrollment is limited.

Activity Classes
Yoga
3:45 - 4:30 p.m. Monday, South Gym 134
A mind-body practice that combines gentle stretching exercises, controlled breathing, relaxation techniques and restorative poses.
Mindfulness
12:15 - 12:45 p.m. Monday, Library 2127
Mindfulness includes meditation, relaxation and other ways to de-stress and enjoy the present moment. You do not need a change of clothes. We will be working the mind, not the body.
Circuit Training
3:45 - 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, South Gym 134
Combines interval training, full body weight exercises, aerobic and core workouts to strengthen and tone your whole body.
Pilates
3:45 - 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, South Gym 134
Utilizes non-impact exercises that target the core and develop strength, flexibility, balance and inner awareness.
Pool fitness classes will begin Wednesday, July 3.
