Fresno State student Jovanni Jaime first met President Castro when she received a scholarship from the Council of Mexican American Women at Hanford Civic Center in April 2014. She was getting ready to graduate from Hanford High School.
Now, as a graduate of Fresno State, she feels that past four years have been the best time of her life.
"I have made memories that will last a lifetime and friendships I could not be more thankful for," she said. "I have grown to call Fresno my home. I also could not thank President Castro enough for helping make my transition to college financially smoother."
Her future plans are to attend graduate school at Fresno Pacific starting in the fall, pursuing a degree in school psychology.
