Examine the history of Fresno’s Chinatown and explore its underground tunnels in our Downtown Center class beginning Thursday, August 2.
Chinatown was home to a wide variety of cultures, including Chinese, Japanese, Armenian, Volga Germans, Mexican, and African American, among others. Each of these groups created its own community and history which has contributed to the rich and diverse heritage of downtown Fresno.
This series will feature guest speakers from different cultures who will share their stories, memories, and personal artifacts. The final session on Saturday, September 2, includes a tour of Chinatown's underground tunnels and a hosted lunch.
Space is limited in this class. For full details and to register, visit: FresnoStateDowntown.com.
