Works Above and Beyond
Reyna Alvarado, Sociology
I am honored and happy to know Reyna as a colleague, trainer and friend. She plays a crucial role in the College of Social Sciences and the Department of Sociology. I am always impressed and inspired by her knowledge and skills. She is quick to overcome challenges and is always ready to assist faculty, students and staff when they need help. As a trainer, Reyna takes time to teach others how to complete tasks and ensures that they understand the reasoning and process behind an action. Thank you for all that you do.
Daniel Bernard, Continuing Global Education
The American Sign Language Club was taking down our large wooden booth next to the food court and we were struggling to transport the pieces to our storage area in PHS. He was walking by, saw us struggling, and jumped in to support with the dolly, moving and lifting our item. He stayed with us until more of our team members arrived. It was near the end of the workday on a Friday afternoon, and we were so grateful. Thank you Daniel for your kindness to our club members and advisor.
Elaine Champion, Facilities Management
Elaine is a lifesaver who always goes above and beyond to give great service as well as great customer service. She cares about her work and always wants to make sure that the work she provides is done well. Sometimes we overlook our custodians and the work they provide for us. I am thankful for all the work that Elaine does in our buildings during the day to keep our spaces clean and useable.
Judy Lea and Megan Barbeau, Athletics Bulldog Foundation
For the last four years, these two pastry chefs have provided the 12 days of Christmas cookies for the Bulldog Foundation staff. They do an incredible and delicious job of alternating delivering different cookies from their ovens to the waiting mouths of staffers. Also interesting is how our office is visited on a much more regular basis by Athletic Department colleagues during the 12 days of Christmas cookies.
Debbie Russell, Animal Sciences and Agricultural Education
Debbie is always working towards making the student experience the best it can be. She is relentless in making sure everything gets done in a timely manner. She is such a sweet lady that works above and beyond for the department. Her hard work and caring personality does not go unnoticed.
Provides Excellent Customer Service
Will Tubbs, Technology services
Will Tubbs works above and beyond, and also models Fresno State's Principles of Community guidelines in an outstanding way. Several times during the fall semester of 2022, Will made himself always available to assist me with various technology issues I experienced in my 8 a.m. class located in PB103. On all occasions, Will was always very patient and friendly as he helped me resolve different technology issues, I would occasionally experience in PB103. His assistance was at times absolutely essential to help me prepare to teach my classes and also allow my students to present in different group settings using the classroom technology. Thank you Will!
