Dr. Shirley N. Weber, California’s Secretary of State, taught Black Studies at San Diego State for over 40 years and sponsored numerous bills to protect civil rights and promote racial equality in California during four terms as an assembly member in the California State Assembly. As her website states, she is "a powerful voice for justice who has dedicated her career to defending and strengthening our most fundamental civil rights." This event is free and open to all.
