The Department of Social Work Education's Title IV-E Child Welfare Program will hold its 20th annual Harry Specht Memorial Child Welfare Symposium on April 12, which will focus on "confronting trauma in professional practice."
Tonier Cain, internationally recognized trauma care expert and founder of Healing Neen, will give the keynote address, followed by speaker, Dr. Iran Barrera (Social Work Education and Gerontology). Panelists will include Dr. Kizzy Lopez, assistant professor of social work at Fresno Pacific University, and Brian Semsen, Sr., director of recreational resilience programs at Every Neighborhood Partnership.
