Goes Above & Beyond
Hortencia Iribe, Graduate Admissions
Hortencia's attention to detail caught an error that was imperative to improving our application processes in regard to transcripts, leading to improving the way we communicate with our students via the Student Center. In addition, she took the time to test out different options, so she not only identified the problem but came back immediately with the solution. What a great example of hard work and preparedness on her end!
Selena Winchell, Recreation Administration
Selena knocked the ball out of the park with her idea of creating a calendar for all of us DAA to be able to see at a quick glance upcoming due dates for scheduling of classes. Way to go for thinking outside of the box!
Rebecca Reid-Johansson, Henry Madden Library Digital Services
Rebecca has adjusted her schedule to come into the library twice a week to support Access Services by getting all of the returned and quarantined books back on the shelf and ready for circulation in our system. She is also working from home cleaning up thousands of flawed catalog records to make our library resources more discoverable and accessible. This kind of behind-the-scenes, detailed work isn't on everyone's radar but it's so critical to a well-run library and is a huge support to our students' success in the long-run.
Fong Moua, Henry Madden Library Digital Services
Fong has been coming into the library regularly to process tons of new equipment and technology peripherals so that Access Services and Tech Lending can have it quickly available for our students and faculty. Since we're operating on a skeleton crew in the building, this extra help has been incredibly appreciated. Fong has also been working from home to clean up thousands of flawed catalog records which has helped to make our resources more easily searchable, discoverable and accessible for our students and faculty. Doing this work from home is laborious and time-consuming, but it's so critical to a well-run library. His extra work behind the scenes has been a huge support to our students' success.

This was especially appreciated during this extraordinary year 2020 and now moving into 2021. Thank you, Lori. Your assistance made all the difference!
