Fresno State received approval to offer a bachelor of science degree program in city and regional planning, the only such planning program in the Central Valley.
CSU Chancellor Timothy P. White approved the degree this month, effective in the fall 2017 semester. The new program replaces an option within the geography major that has been offered since 2014.
Dr. Segun Ogunjemiyo, professor of atmospheric sciences in the Department of Geography and City and Regional Planning, said the University received strong community support from regional planners, city officials and corporations like PG&E, as well as scholarship funds to support the program donated by such companies such as Bonadelle Homes, Granville Homes, McCaffrey Homes, Penstar Group and Chester Cole.
