In September 2018, the office of Brand Strategy and Marketing published the University's updated brand style guide. The website was developed to help campus units bring Fresno State’s brand to life.
The website is an updated version of Fresno State’s brand guidelines established in 2009, which were developed by a cross-campus committee after a series of focus groups conducted with students, faculty, staff, alumni and the greater community.
This resource provides additional critical updates to the 2009 brand guidelines, including:
- Brand narrative
- Defining university values
- Brand pillars
- Tone, voice and writing style
- Development communications tips
- Email, photo and video standards
- Downloadable resources
- Examples of brand in action
The updates were made after utilizing current brand research with alumni and community members and researching industry best practices. The office of Brand Strategy and Marketing also conducted a series of focus groups with communication specialists across campus to help develop the updated brand narrative and ensure the brand voice was true. The focus groups also ensured that the website’s content met faculty and staff needs.
Thank you for using the website to present a cohesive image of our University. Apply the brand guidelines to all communications to help ensure we achieve brand continuity across platforms. Additionally, all graphic projects utilizing the University's visual identity must be approved by the office of Brand Strategy and Marketing, please submit your request to Todd Graves at tgraves@csufresno.edu.
