Leadership Lunch and Learn
Making Great First Impressions
Noon - 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, Library 2134
A new semester, a new year and so many new starts. We all know the importance of first impressions at a job interview, yet can forget the value of first impressions when starting anything new - such as working with a new work group, committee, or students. Especially when you have delivered the same project, class, orientation, or meeting many times, it is easy to forget that attendees are experiencing it for the first time.
In this workshop, Dr. Ulrike Muller, professor of Biology, and William Hardaway, academic support coordinator in the Learning Center, will share ideas and experiences to ensure the first meeting, class, or orientation helps your project, course, or new team members succeed. Learn how to use first impressions to set expectations, create rapport, and inspire motivation. Pizza and salad will be provided.
