Dr. Maria Calahorra-Jimenez, assistant professor, Department of Construction Management, won the Regional Teaching Award from The Associated Schools of Construction. This award recognizes the faculty member's contribution to construction education, excellence in teaching, service to the Associated Schools of Construction and dedication to the construction profession. She will receive the award at the ASC annual conference in Liverpool, United Kingdom.

The Learning Center received certification as a Level 1 and Level 2 certified tutor training program by the internationally recognized College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). For more than 30 years, CRLA has been a leader in learning assistance, reading, and academic support programs with almost 1,300 members and over 2,000 certified training programs worldwide. Achieving certification means that the Learning Center has met CRLA’s high standards for tutor selection, training, direct service, and evaluation as an integral part of its overall tutoring program.
