Works Above and Beyond
Whitney Cambric, Library
Whitney has helped us work through a thorny, complicated situation and did so with patience, professionalism and graciousness. She has been collaborative and helpful throughout the process, and we really appreciate that. Working through this issue with her has made all the difference. Thank you, Whitney. Your efforts are very much appreciated! You certainly went above and beyond in this instance for us.
Jeff Colvin, Technology Services
I wanted to appreciate all of Jeff’s hard work in helping get the financial aid call center ready to take student calls in January and finding a quick solution to the 30-minute wait period limitation in a short period of time. He was able to create two queues in one that allows students to hold for longer than 30 minutes, so that we are able to provide quality customer service to students. The phone traffic has been smooth sailing so far, which is great. Thank you, Jeff!
Esmeralda Cruz, Human Resources
Esmeralda really went out of her way to assist me in filling out the necessary documentation needed when I had COVID. She was incredibly kind and patient and went the extra mile to help me. I'm very grateful. She's a rockstar in my book.
Filomena Fagundes, Technology Services
I just wanted to appreciate Filomena’s hard work in ensuring that the Financial Aid and Scholarship office was ready to tackle the heavier phone traffic that comes with the spring fee payment deadline as we went live with the Zoom phone system. I really appreciate her advocacy with Zoom, her follow through and constant support in finding a solution in time for the January rush. Thank you, Filomena. So glad to have you around.
Kelly Nelson, Facilities Management
Kelly is always working hard behind the scenes in the library, making sure that the building is taken care of and ready for our patrons. With the number of people in and out of the library every day, it's a non-stop job and she is constantly on the move. Recently, I mentioned in passing that the soap dispenser was not functioning properly and in a matter of minutes it was taken care of. She has a positive attitude and a strong work ethic, and we are fortunate to have her in the library.
Provides Excellent Customer Service
Idalia Morgutia, Library
Idalia is always very positive, friendly, and helpful and often goes above and beyond to see what she can do. She has helped us with getting packages mailed out and with hiring student assistants and most recently, offered to let us in the Special Collections Research Center to pick up our campus mail as a group rather than come down individually. This is all very much appreciated. Thank you, Idalia.
Human Resources
Cathy and the HR team were supportive and helpful during my leave. I had many questions, and they were always willing to answer each one. Thank you to Cathy, Sarah, Brittanie, Juanita, Julie and Kirsten.
Saved My Bacon!
Travis Hergerle, Technology Services
Just wanted to thank Travis for all that he does for our department — he is regularly checking in and quick to respond when issues arise. Aside from being responsive to regular day-to-day issues that we encounter, he has been a key player in preparing for the January rush. He built a Google form from code that allows students to request a call back from our office instead of waiting on hold. This has been another solution to help our office handle the student phone traffic in light of the 30-minute wait period limitation. We appreciate having Travis on our team and his constant willingness to help.
Lisa Wilson, Anthropology
I called Lisa with a pressing question, and she didn't hesitate to schedule a Zoom meeting with me. She explained everything so thoroughly and in a way that was easy to understand. I had to call her again regarding a follow up question, and again, she didn't hesitate to schedule another call with me. Thank you for Saving My Bacon, Lisa.
