Narek Hakhnazaryan, cellist, and Noreen Polera, pianist, perform at 3 p.m. on Jan. 29 in the Concert Hall.
Born in Armenia and educated at the Moscow Conservatory and the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Hakhnazaryan was launched onto the international scene after winning the Gold Medal at the 2011 Tchaikovsky International Cello Competition in Moscow. He and Polera will perform works by Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, Massenet, Cassadó, Williams, Albéniz, Piazzolla, and Harutyunyan.
The concert is presented by Philip Lorenz Memorial Keyboard Concerts, the Fresno State Armenian Studies Program and the Thomas A. Kooyumjian Family Foundation. General admission is $25, seniors $18 and students $5. For reservations and other information, call 278.2337.
