He worked as an academic counselor for Student Athletic Services, was a pre-nursing coordinator and academic adviser in the College of Health and Human Services and an adviser in the College of Science and Mathematics. Gill would later serve as program coordinator of Student Clubs and Organizations and Major Campus Events in the Student Involvement Office and as a degree specialist in the Undergraduate Degree Evaluations Office.
Funeral services were held on Jan. 1 at the Madera Islamic Center and Madera Islamic Cemetery in Madera.
To honor Gill's philanthropic spirit, the Gill family has created a GoFundMe page with money raised benefiting local charities.
