As the Central Utility Plant Replacement project gets underway, informational updates will be provided to keep our campus community informed as we progress through various stages of the project.
Work will soon begin to refurbish the Thermal Energy Storage (TES) tank. Located in the Facilities Management yard area, the tank is used to store chilled water during the summer months to provide chilled water for cooling during off-peak hours (for energy cost savings). This work will occur over the next few months so that it can be completed before warmer temperatures approach this spring. This process involves draining the tank, cleaning and then recoating the interior.
