The College of Arts and Humanities and the Music Department are pleased to announce this year’s Fresno State Violin and Viola Festival, which offers an intensive training experience to violinists and violists on intermediate to advanced level.
Middle and high school students are encouraged to apply, to participate in the master classes, rehearsals and the Gala concert and to perform alongside the festival faculty artists. Please see the website for more information.
The master classes will be conducted from 3 - 7 p.m. Friday, March 1 in Wahlberg Recital Hall, and on Saturday, March 2 in the Concert Hall.
The festival will be commemorated with a Gala Concert at 8 p.m. March 2 in the Concert Hall. The guest artists include violinist Sergiu Schwartz and violist Steven Tenenbom.

J. Brahms, Quintet in G major, Op. 111, with Sergiu Schwartz and Limor Toren-Immerman, violins, Steven Tenenbom and Michael Chang, violas, Thomas Loewenheim, cello.
J. S. Bach, Concerto for Two Violins and String Orchestra, (Sergiu Schwartz and Limor Toren-Immerman, solo violins) and J.S. Bach, Brandenburg Concerto number 6 (Steven Tenenbom and Michael Chang, solo violas) with the Festival Chamber Orchestra conducted by Dr. Thomas Loewenheim.
