What began as a "bold idea" in the 2017 Bold Ideas Challenge has now come to fruition in Fresno State's newest employee recognition program — High Five. Click here to read about how the program began.
High Fives are easy to give — simply go to the High Five website on the Organizational Excellence webpage, click “Give a High Five” and fill out the form to send kudos to anyone on campus. Your message will be delivered straight to their inbox, and recipients will be acknowledged weekly in Campus News.
Read below how your colleagues are going above and beyond to help the campus community.

Goes Above & Beyond
Catherine Kuchar, Craig School of Business, Advising Center
Catherine is an excellent example of how to lead with strength and organization. She is always being pulled in multiple directions and does an amazing job at balancing her students with her "other duties as assigned." Catherine is an example that all should look to.
Derek Brantley, Traffic Operations
Derek has worked hard the last couple of years to achieve his college degree to reinforce his experience in management. The employees in his department are his No. 1 concern. As interim transportation manager, he has worked diligently to increase his understanding of financial and personnel matters for the department. His years of experience as a traffic operations supervisor give him the operational knowledge needed to get the job done efficiently. But what he does best is showing kindness and consideration for those he supervises. He is well liked by his department and public safety community. Congratulations!
Britt Foster and Hiromi Kubo, Library
As our Craig School of Business library liaison, Hiromi has continually delivered beyond my request — going the extra mile for student success by supporting me and supporting them directly. I recently asked for support regarding a course assignment and my own research. Hiromi partnered with Britt Foster to relay a treasure trove of resources beyond my expectations. Together, Britt and Hiromi are resourceful, timely and strive for excellent service to their stakeholders.
Saved My Bacon
Deborah Reba, Technology Services
Deborah patiently assisted me in getting my remote Zoom working. I had an important Zoom lined up and was having trouble with the remote access. Thank you, Deborah!
Provides Excellent Customer Service
Brian Beamer, Technology Services
Brian always comes to the rescue when I am having IT issues with my computer. He is always friendly and patient with me and provides excellent customer service every time. Thank you, Brian, for all the work you do! He always solves the problem.
Amanda Eberlein, Admissions and Recruitment Office
Graduate recruitment can be complex. Most applicants seek tons of support and advice from programs, departments, the Division of Research and Graduate Studies, and, of course, the campus admissions and recruitment office. Amanda Eberlein, as part of the small but mighty graduate admissions team, consistently goes above and beyond to deeply connect with applicants and encourage them at every single step of the process. Her high level of service and communication, especially with student applicants who need repeat assistance, is such a key ingredient to the graduate recruitment process campus wide. I am so grateful for her commitment to serve others.
Modeled Principles of Community
Courtney Meinhold, Craig School of Business
Courtney is always willing to collaborate on any project that I am having difficulty with. Her willingness to assist and her kindness are among her most admirable traits. Thank you for showing us what a Bulldog really is.
Liliana Oceguera, Craig School of Business, Advising Center
Lily approaches each student with kindness and respect. Her quick "thank you" responses do not go unnoticed. Thank you, Liliana, for being a true example of what a Bulldog is.
