When the Bulldogs host New Mexico on Saturday, Feb. 18, for a men's basketball game, a new record is the goal for the DogPound, the official student section in the Save Mart Center.
The team will wear one-of-a-kind black Nike uniforms, which will all have the word "STUDENT" on the back to celebrate all 24,403 Fresno State students. One Fresno State student in attendance will win a $2,500 scholarship, courtesy of Office Depot. Another student will win a free Apple Watch and the first 1,000 students will receive free tacos in one of the nation's largest taco giveaways ever. Great student giveaways will go on all night, including free shirts and more.
"We really appreciate the support of our community, especially our Fresno State students," head coach Rodney Terry said. "It is so important to have an electric environment coming from the student section. We are very excited to have the opportunity to wear these special uniforms to show our students how much they mean to us and recognize their critical impact in the Valley."
Fresno State will also honor its alumni at the game, with the Bulldogs' annual Alumni Night, which includes a post-game scrimmage featuring former Bulldogs.
As always, Fresno State students receive free admission for themselves and one guest to home Bulldog basketball games simply by showing their Fresno State student ID card at the northeast entrance to the Save Mart Center on game day.
Tickets for faculty and staff are available starting at $15 through the Save Mart Center Box Office (northwest entrance) and ticketmaster.com.
