The newly renamed Richard (Dick) Keyes Leadership in Education Forum, hosted by the United Negro College Fund-Fresno, will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, in the Ellipse Gallery on the second floor of the Fresno State Library.
The forum, “Investing in the Young Minds of the 21st Century,” will feature a panel discussion with Dr. Sean A. Haley, executive director of the Center for Civic and Public Policy Improvement from Houston, Texas; Dr. Brent Jones, Seattle Public Schools Superintendent; Dr. Ramar Henderson, professor of special education and counseling at California State University, Los Angeles; and Fresno State student Tamia Fuller, a senior political science major and recipient of the UNCF African American Education Fund scholarship.
The annual event was renamed this year in honor of former Fresno State Professor Richard Keyes who passed away in 2020. Keyes helped launch the Black studies and ethnic studies programs at Fresno State, was a longtime community leader and member of the United Negro College Fund-Fresno Chapter for over 40 years.
