Goes Above & Beyond
Stella Sommer, Office of the Dean, Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology
Excellent support as the instructional support technician for the Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology. Provides the service, checks back to see if everything worked out and always with a smile on her face. Can handle any request, even on short notice. Reminds us of the safety protocols, always in a pleasant manner. Excellent service to our graduate students if a piece of equipment is needed, helps with protocol development and will even work side by side with the graduate student to be sure that they understand how to run a laboratory protocol. In response to COVID-19 and virtual labs, equipped herself to film lab demonstrations, field tours and processes and uploads the video very fast. Most of all, she knows her chemistry and has been invaluable in terms of developing protocols and improving their quality control. And ... a joy to work with!
Cynthia Hanks, Accounting Services
If I could give Cynthia a High Ten, I would certainly do it. Cynthia is the backbone of our department. She is a manager who leads by example. She is very hard working and is always willing to help us in everything we need. She listens to our concerns and we feel that her door is always open for us in the moments that we need her the most. She is always optimistic, enthusiastic and keeps our spirits high under any circumstances. She makes us feel appreciated and always finds ways to show it. Many times, she lets us have the spotlight when in reality she has been the one who deserves the recognition. We feel privileged to have her as a manager and privileged to be part of her team. Thank you, Cynthia, for all you do for your team!
Saved My Bacon!
Denise Biggert, Dean's Office, Craig School of Business
I had a last-minute project come up and Denise helped me gather the information I needed to complete the task on time before Thanksgiving break. Thanks Denise!
Chris Hernandez, Office of Institutional Effectiveness
Chris was able to help with a critical issue quickly and efficiently; we were having regarding survey results that were not available due to the sudden medical leave of an employee. His help not only benefits our office, but it also means that dozens of students will be able to have work they produced displayed on the internet as originally intended. Without Chris, the whole semester-long project would have likely fallen apart!
