For 65 years, United Way’s Our Promise campaign has brought together state employees, donors, volunteers and nonprofits to care for California communities and causes.
Nearly 300,000 state employees support charitable programs through the Our Promise annual campaign. I am proud of faculty and staff who, in 2021, raised over $21,000 to support our neighboring communities. In partnership with other organizations, United Way Fresno and Madera Counties helped bring $16 million back into the pockets of working families, responded to 40,000 2-1-1 calls getting people connected to critical resources and reinvested hundreds of thousands of dollars to other nonprofits doubling down on donations.
If you are currently giving to Our Promise, your payroll deduction will continue, and all proceeds will benefit the organization you selected previously. If you desire to change or increase your deductions the new amount will be deducted starting in January 2023. To support your community, visit United Way’s Our Promise campaign.
The University’s United Way contact and Fresno State alumna is Aubrey Johnson. If you have questions about the campaign or if you are a Foundation employee and want to give, please contact her at ajohnson@uwfm.org or 805.458.2863.
