Congratulations to Dr. Maryam Nazari, assistant professor of civil engineering, for receiving the 2019 Outstanding Research Project of the Year Award for her research on “Green Strategies for Design and Construction of Non-Auto Transportation Infrastructure” by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) San Francisco Section.
Funded by the Fresno State Transportation Institute, the project researched the application of green materials, such as tire-derived aggregate (TDA), for the design of non-auto transportation infrastructures (e.g., pavement slabs) to enhance operational lifetime and reduce maintenance costs.
