Karina Cardenas, Special Collections and Archives Assistant in the Henry Madden Library, presented a webinar for the Society of California Archivists called "Beyond Diversity Initiatives: Recruitment of BIPOC into Archives and Special Collections Librarianship" with two other CSU library peers from CSU Los Angeles and CSU Dominguez Hills.
The presentation discussed how institutions can leverage their strengths to build and foster diversity programs aimed to recruit prospective undergraduate and graduate students, library staff and student workers into the profession.
Dr. Tania Pacheco-Werner, co-assistant director of the Central Valley Health Policy Institute, was appointed by Gov. Gavin Newsom to the California Air Resources Board. In August, she was appointed to the governing board of the San Joaquin Valley Air District.
