Works Above and Beyond
Whitney Cambric, Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management
Whitney is always willing to donate time to help me with my task. She is also ready to step out of her comfort zone. It has been a blessing to see her shine in her job and her willingness to collaborate and support others. I appreciate her, and Fresno State is better with her here.
Ernest Escalante, Facilities Management
Ernest notified the department of Environmental Health and Safety, and Risk Management about a possible safety hazard that was corrected because of his safety awareness.
Russell Gross, TRIO Student Support Services – Veterans
During spring Dog Days we have been a bit understaffed. Russell took it upon himself to serve as the greeter during Dog Days. Russell greeted all the new students providing incredible customer service. His Bulldog spirit deserves the highest of fives!
David Low, Literacy, Early, Bilingual and Special Education
Dr. Low was recently awarded the 2023 Arthur Applebee Award for Excellence in Research on Literacy in Atalanta, GA given by the Literacy Research Association. His co-authored article, "Youth identities and affinities on the move: using a transliteracies framework to critique digital dichotomies" bring to life the beautiful complexities of youth identity and culture in the Central Valley. I am grateful to Dr. Low for continuing to push forward award-winning scholarships and teaching that are central to Fresno State's identity as a R2 institution.
Modeled Principles of Community
Robert Willmott, Agricultural Operations
Rob has modeled all four of Fresno State's Principles of Community during his time as the Co-Interim Farm Manager. He used collaboration and accountability to help the University Ag Laboratory successfully transition for the next Farm Manager. He demonstrates respect and kindness on a daily basis. Rob's personality and jokes liven up every room he walks. We appreciate all he does for the farm. Thanks Rob!
