Fresno State master of arts students present their group exhibition, “Into the Chaosmos,” at the M Street Gallery in the Fresno State Graduate Art Studios, located at 1419 M Street in downtown Fresno.
An opening reception will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, during ArtHop. The exhibition will also be open to the public from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, and 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, for ArtHop. Admission is free for all public viewings.
This exhibition presents works by master’s student artists Thomas Andrade, Moises Gante, Kambrya Bailey, Jasmine Rodriguez, Tarynn A-Tvo, Brandi Nuse-Villegas and Sherril Royse, who explore chaosmos through art practice-based research.
“Into the Chaosmos” is a philosophical idea originally conceived by the novelist and poet James Joyce, later expanded by the philosophers Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. The concept captures the act of unfolding new forms of thought and experience through the coexistence of chaos and order as a generative force. The exhibition celebrates how artists transform turbulence into creative form, revealing chaos as a source of renewal where new aesthetic meanings and sensations continually unfold.
