Dr. Nupur Hajela, associate professor, Department of Physical Therapy, has been selected as the recipient of the California Physical Therapy Association Publication Award 2024 and will be given the honor at the CPTA annual conference this September. The award recognizes her peer reviewed publication on "Telehealth for Gait and Balance Disorder in Aging Population" published in the prestigious journal Topics in Geriatrics Rehabilitation.
Dr. Nancy Nisbett, professor, Department of Recreation Administration, was elected president of the American Therapeutic Recreation Association, with her three-year term beginning in October.
Michele Falk, administrative support coordinator, Department of Recreation Administration, was elected to the executive board of the Southwestern Anthropological Association as a member-at-large.
Dr. Rohan Jadhav, assistant professor, Department of Public Health, presented his research "Farming hazards among Hmong farmers in the Central Valley of California" at the International Society for Agricultural Safety and Health in Portland, Oregon this past June.
Dr. Ting-fen Lin, assistant professor, Department of Communicative Sciences and Deaf Studies, was awarded the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association 2024 Advancing Academic-Research Careers Award.
