In November 2018, the U.S. Department of Education issued a proposal to amend the regulations implementing Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. The proposed regulations focused on sexual harassment (including sexual assault) and were intended to replace prior guidance issued by the federal government. Following the public comment period, the Department of Education released the new Federal Title IX Rules on May 6, 2020, and the CSU is required to comply with these new rules.
Effective Aug. 14, 2020, the CSU has updated Executive Orders 1096 and 1097 to comply with the new Federal Title IX Rules. Please see links below to access the updated policies and the Notice of Non-Discrimination on the Basis of Gender or Sex.
