Sean Boyd, geography and city and regional planning lecturer, is retiring. He is continuing his teachings at Fresno City College as a full-time geography instructor.
Boyd first became acquainted with Fresno in 1979, after being hired as a television weathercaster on what is now KSEE24. He garnered over two decades of experience in weather broadcasting, serving in both Fresno and Bakersfield. Subsequently, he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in geography from Fresno State and completed a 40-unit Broadcast Meteorology Certificate program at Mississippi State University. In 2009, he returned to the university and joined the Geography Department as a part-time lecturer.
Boyd has found satisfaction in working with his fellow colleagues throughout the years. βIt was an honor to teach in the Geography Department and to gain the respect of the geography faculty whose credentials are much loftier than mine,β he said.
Over the past 14 years, Boyd has shared his love for weather and climate with almost 5,000 students on campus. As he looks towards retirement, he intends to focus on enhancing his teaching abilities at the college while also enjoying more quality time with his loved ones.
