The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute [OLLI] provides engaging learning opportunities designed for those aged 50 and better — no homework, grades or exams.
New this fall, OLLI will introduce “Osher After Hours” to better serve lifelong learners who might still be working. Select courses will be offered from 6 to 7 p.m., making it easier to fit OLLI into busy schedules. Look for the moon icon in the fall catalog, which will be posted online soon.
The membership fee is $45 per person for the fall session, but Fresno State employees and retirees can get a $10 discount by entering the code OLLI26 when they register. While OLLI is designed for adults 50 and better, individuals under 50 can still register.
A sneak peek at highlights from the fall catalog includes:
- Keynote speakers: anthropology professor Dr. Chelsey Juarez, political science professor Dr. Thomas Holyoke, Elizabeth Laval and Mark Standriff, and Bee culture reporter Joshua Tehee.
- Adventures: Reflect on the 25 years since the 9/11 attacks with a visit to the California 9/11 Memorial and Roger Rocka’s presentation of “Come from Away.”
- 32 in-person and online short courses.
The membership fee provides the following perks:
- Admission plus a guest pass to keynote presentations.
- An opportunity to enroll in all OLLI courses and adventures.
- Free parking for OLLI campus events.
- Updates about events happening at Fresno State.
- All OLLI members receive a Fresno State Library card good for the duration of that session.
