What began as a "bold idea" in the 2017 Bold Ideas Challenge has now come to fruition in Fresno State's newest employee recognition program — High Five. Click here to read about how the program began.
High Fives are easy to give — simply go to the High Five website on the Organizational Excellence webpage, click “Give a High Five” and fill out the form to send kudos to anyone on campus. Your message will be delivered straight to their inbox, and recipients will be acknowledged weekly in Campus News.
Read below how your colleagues are going above and beyond to help the campus community.

Emily is hardworking, dependable and reliable. When asked to help other staff, without hesitation she is willing to jump in and assist in any way she can. Emily always has a positive attitude and has a smile on her face. Thank you for all you do, Emily. We appreciate your dedication and hard work in our office.
Glen Hunt, Technology Services
Glen is amazing! He always goes above and beyond and is such a pleasure to work with. He never makes me feel like I'm bothering him no matter how many silly questions I know I'm asking him, and I hope everyone he works with is telling him on a regular basis how fantastic a job he's doing. Keep at it Glen, you do not go unnoticed!
Glen Hunt, Technology Services
I had trouble getting my Google drive to connect properly so I wasn't able to access things. Glen spent at least two hours working on the problem, trying multiple things until he was able to resolve the issue.
James Herrin, Technology Services
James has been integral in the development of the HyFlex program. He is always available, never says no, and is willing at a moment’s notice to assist with any request. Your dedication is infectious, James — thank you!
Juan Torres, Technology Services
Juan helped me reset a very complicated voicemail box. He walked me through the process, was kind and helpful, and answered all my questions. And when I called him back with even more questions, he was very gracious, kind and helpful again. I really appreciate Juan; he definitely went above and beyond to help me!
Juanita Aguilar, Human Resources
Thank you, Juanita, for going above and beyond!
Koua Vang, Financial Aid and Scholarships
Koua is always willing to help out the team with phones and has been vital as we work through changes to the verification process from the U.S. Department of Education. I don't know where we would be without her help and support. Thank you, Koua!
Mehrzad Zarrin, University Student Union and Student Involvement
Mehrzad is helpful, kind and supportive. We recently had an event at the Peace Garden. Despite many changes and additional requests, she was helpful, prompt and handled everything professionally. Because of her help, we had a successful event. She fosters the Principles of Community. Thank you, Mehrzad!
Services for Students with Disabilities
The department of Services for Students with Disabilities rarely receives recognition for the amazing work they all continue to do in serving our students. You are all amazing and deserve to be acknowledged for always going above and beyond serving our students with a wide range of disabilities. You are all appreciated for your work, dedication and services provided.
Provided Excellent Customer Service
Cathi Scherer, Technology Services
Cathi, as always, provided excellent customer service. She was able to help me solve my issue and did it with kindness and grace. She also called me afterwards to follow up to make sure everything worked out. Thank you, Cathi, for your help!
Facilities Management
I must say that our custodial service staff members are outstanding. They have a positive spirit and lighten the atmosphere when they come to work in our office. Sometimes people will walk by the water dispenser until the next person changes it, but Larry offered to change our water bottle when it was empty! That was so nice of him! Larry, Crystal and Zeke are some of the brightest stars on campus. Thank you, all, for what you do!
Sheri Osborn, Psychology
Thank you, Sheri, for providing excellent customer service!
