Name: Chuck Radke
Title: Dissertation/Thesis consultant
Department: Research and Graduate Studies
Academic Degrees: B.A., M.A., MFA, Florida International University (Miami), creative writing
How long you have worked at Fresno State: 19 years
What is your most notable accomplishment in your field, and why was it important? I've helped hundreds of students in the past two decades publish their research and creative works, which is important as it helps those students advance in their chosen fields and go on to contribute to their communities.
What are you most passionate about in your field and why? Helping students complete their dissertation and thesis requirements, then watching them go on to do great things in their fields.
What is a memorable moment you had at your job? Not one moment, but rather the founding, evolution, and success of the Graduate Writing Studio, now the Graduate Student Success Center. I am particularly proud of that.
What do you like to do for fun in your spare time? I write and publish essays in literary journals, some of which I feature on my website charleslewisradke.com.
What is something interesting about you that most people don’t know? I published a memoir in January 2021, Stuccoville: Life Without A Net.
Is there something else you would like to share that was not asked? I have been fortunate in that I have always had supportive deans and a small but mighty staff.
