William Hardaway, instructional designer, Innovation and Digital Excellence for Academic Success (IDEAS), was a presenter at the American Association of State Colleges and Universities summer institute in Baltimore, Maryland along with co-presenters, Dr. Xuanning Fu, provost, Dr. Bryan Berrett, director, Office of IDEAS, and Chenoa Woods, director of Research Student Success Initiatives, CSU Chancellor’s Office. They presented "Equity-Centered Teaching and Learning."
The Valley Music Hall of Fame has announced the 2023 class of inductees. Dr. Benjamin Boone, professor, jazz saxophonist and composer, and Dr. Juan Serrano Rodriguez, retired professor and flamenco guitar master, are two of the five inductees. D'Aungillique Jackson, program coordinator, Division of Equity and Engagement, visited Washington D.C. June 26 to July 1. Through community support, she was able to fundraise $5,000 to accommodate her travel in 22 hours. She was invited to at the second Pride Reception hosted by Vice President Kamala Harris at her home on June 28. While there, Jackson also received an invitation to the Secretary of State’s Pride Reception by Jessica Stern, Special Envoy to Advance the Human Rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI+) Persons.
