You are invited to join us for a three day fast starting at 8 a.m. Aug. 6 to 11 a.m. Aug. 9. We fast to affirm our commitment to nonviolence, peace, justice and to move forward the elimination of nuclear weapons and war as a tool of foreign policy.
Fasting is the abstinence of food for a certain amount of time. It is a purposeful act of liberation through discipline and inspiration toward centeredness. It has historical, political, religious and spiritual significance. We welcome each participant to individually explore and define how they will fast — what they will abstain from — during this commemoration.
