Engaging Agribusiness Students in Learning: The Adoption of New Technologies, Virtual Learning, and Service Learning
Dr. Xu’s research discipline covers three aspects which include international trade of food products, consumers’ acceptance of food prices, and agribusiness students’ learning behaviors. Her publication in 2020 demonstrates that service-learning helps students relate how course subject matter is used in everyday business operations and reveals that students commented positively about experiential/service learning throughout their college work. Her study in 2020 demonstrates that using new technologies such as DISCOVERe devices can significantly improve students' participation in class activities, enhance their access to course materials, and make it easier for them to interact with fellow students to improve their overall learning experience. Another study she co-authored in 2022 shows that environment and personal characteristics contributed to the lack of motivation to learn. Her collaboration in 2023 shows that students believe significant challenges exist with virtual instructions.
