Works Above and Beyond
Ernesto Duran, Agricultural Operations
A big thank you for going above and beyond in supporting first-year BOND students with place- and course-based undergraduate research (CURE). In BOND, we’re proud to support student-driven projects, and many of our students are eager to explore greenhouse soil and biochar experimentation. With our own greenhouse unavailable, you stepped in without hesitation — generously making space in the Horticultural Nursery. Your support has made a meaningful difference, opening doors for hands-on learning that would not have been possible otherwise. Thank you, Ernesto, for helping BOND strengthen and expand experiential learning opportunities for our students — we truly appreciate you.
Whitney Rodriguez, Student Health and Counseling
I am nominating this coworker for a High Five recognition because she consistently demonstrates what it means to be a true team player. She is always willing to consult, offer support and step in to help whenever needed. Her professionalism, reliability and approachable nature make her a valuable resource to the entire team, and she is consistently available to support her colleagues. I absolutely appreciate her.
Monica Solis, Recruitment
I needed to find an easier way to filter through some student data, and while trying to create a report in Bulldog Connect, it was not working for me. I sent Monica a chat to ask for some guidance, and she not only answered my question but jumped on Zoom with me so she could walk me through it step by step. She saved me so much time in helping me create this report I can now run when needed. Thank you, Monica, for always being willing to help so quickly and efficiently.
Saved My Bacon
Joshua Freeman, University Library - Shipping and Receiving
Due to a last-minute schedule change for the Provost search, Joshua responded quickly to set up the room for the scheduled open forums. He was attentive to the needs of HR and the Provost search chair, ensuring everything ran smoothly. His hard work and dedication contributed greatly to the success of the forums.
Zak Kaiser, Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology,
Zak was incredibly helpful while I was struggling to import data from multiple workbooks. I couldn’t get the process to work and was on the verge of recreating everything from scratch. Instead, Zak identified a simple fix that resolved the issue immediately and allowed the workbooks to function properly without starting over. His guidance saved me several hours of work. Thank you, Zak, for sharing your expertise and providing such an efficient solution.
Rueben Silva, Facilities Management
Rueben came up with a solution to a problem I thought was going to be very difficult. I appreciate his resourcefulness and how fast he came up with the fix.
Facilities
We needed a golf cart for campus tours with candidates, and our current cart’s battery was no longer holding a charge. Meredith quickly stepped in and arranged a replacement the very same day. Her responsiveness and willingness to help on short notice ensured our tours could go forward. We truly appreciate her support and reliability — it made a real difference for our team.
Modeled Principles of Community
University Marketing and Communications
Huge thank you — and a big high five — to the University Marketing and Communications team. I reached out to Ashley asking about templates, and although none were available, she immediately offered to create something for our office. That initiative and support made a real difference for us, especially on a tight timeline. Your responsiveness, creativity and care did not go unnoticed. You truly modeled Fresno State’s Principles of Community through your collaboration and willingness to help. Thank you again for going above and beyond, we’re incredibly grateful. High fives all around.
