Dr. Rita Atwood, professor of Media, Communications and Journalism, whose teaching abilities and course development impacted countless students and media professionals, passed away on Monday, April 1. She was 69 years old.
Dr. Atwood's wish was that any donations in her memory should go to Cats by the Tracks. A memorial service has not yet been announced.

Dr. Martin Paul, professor emeritus of English and a self-taught specialist on poetry in translation, died in Sarasota, Florida on Monday, April 1 at the age of 82.
An intrepid world traveler who visited more than 140 countries and learned five languages, Dr. Paul taught English literature and writing at the University from 1967 to 2006.
There were no funeral services. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes be made to the English Department in honor of Paul, to benefit the Philip Levine Scholarship.
