As we interact with others, as we try to understand them, but also as we try to understand the world more broadly, we benefit from our ability to take different perspectives.
Speakers from various Fresno State departments and external guests will investigate the nature and the [moral and epistemic] benefits of perspective-taking at the interdisciplinary symposium "Perspective Pluralism" on Friday, May 2 in the Alice Peters Auditorium at the University Business Center.
The event is organized by the Philosophy Department and co-sponsored through IRA funds, the M. K. Gandhi Center for Inner Peace and Sarvodaya, and the Jain-Hindu Endowment. The symposium will bring together different disciplines that approach this topic from the vantage point of different traditions such as Hinduism, Jainism, Ubuntu, psychology and philosophy.
The event is free and open to all. Visit the Department of Philosophy for more information.
Date: Friday, May 2
Time: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
