If you teach a synchronous class on Tuesdays, between 9:30 and 10:45 a.m. and/or 11 a.m. and 12:15 p.m., and you are feeling exhausted, or looking for an alternative activity to end the semester, you and your students are very welcome to join my ANTH 2 classes for a screening and discussion of "Pangandoy: The Manobo Fight for Land, Education, and Their Future."
The screening will be followed by a discussion with students from the Magkasia Filipino Club and members of the Filipino community group Anakbayan Fresno, who will discuss their efforts to pass a resolution on campus in support of the Philippine Human Rights Act.
This alternative activity would be appropriate for classes dealing with: Indigenous peoples, environmental justice, globalization and neoliberalism, land rights, Asia, Asian Americans and Pacfiic Islanders, social justice, education, youth, international law, militarism, austerity and dictatorship, and much more.
