Nupur Hajela, assistant professor in the Department of Physical Therapy, presented her research on telerehabilitation to undergraduate and postgraduate students at Sri Devraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research in Kolar, India. While there, she helped their Physiotherapy Department visualize telehealth clinical opportunities for their underserved and rural patient population. In addition, Hajela has been elected the vice chairperson for the California Physical Therapy Association's San Joaquin Valley District, where she hopes to expand her work on senior fall prevention in the Central Valley and focus on health equity and digital literacy in underserved areas via telehealth.

Laura Ramos, interim director of Research and Education, California Water Institute, contributed an article to the Water Resources IMPACT magazine. Water Commission explores drought impacts and responses in the latest issue of Water Resources IMPACT magazine. Articles delve into how drought impacts people and the environment and how we can respond to droughts, better preparing for the inevitable.
The second issue, published on April 20, focuses on drought response, considering the options for adaptation. The author's expertise and perspectives in climate science, water policy, and water management will help inform drought-related decision-making and support policies that better prepare the state to thrive during prolonged drought events.
Dr. Miguel Perez, professor in the Department of Public Health, has been appointed to the Society for Public Health Education Board of Trustees for 2023-24. The Society of Public Health Education is comprised of health education and health promotion professionals and students from around the U.S. and also internationally. The organization is committed to meeting the country's growing health issues through its advocacy and membership. In addition, Perez had his manuscript "Validity and reliability of a questionnaire related to student lifestyle changes in six universities in the American continent" published in Revista Entorno.
Dr. Peter Robertson presented the academic paper, "We're Here, But Not Queer: Exploring LGBTQ+ Allyship Affiliations and Motivations for Giving Within Higher Education" at the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Annual Meeting recently held in Chicago. This year, AERA received 11,000 submissions, and the conference had 14,000 attendees.
Robertson also received the AERA Philanthropy and Education category's inaugural SIG Reviewers' Choice Award in recognition of this paper.
