Fresno State nutrition and dietetic students will host Bulldogs in the Kitchen cooking and dietary planning sessions for university student-athletes 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 23; Tuesday, April 24; Wednesday, April 25; and Monday, April 30 in the campus kitchen laboratory (Family Food Science Building 108).
Student-athletes from the women’s basketball, football, track and field, volleyball, water polo and women’s tennis teams will learn how to prepare multi-course Italian and Mexican meals. Menu items include appetizers, salads, enchilada casserole and lasagna entrees, non-alcoholic mojito and Italian soda beverages and a multi-grain waffle dessert, as well as vegetarian options.
Over 300 student-athletes have participated in the Bulldogs in the Kitchen, which started in 2009. The program also emphasizes healthy meal planning, grocery shopping, budgeting and basic kitchen techniques.
