All faculty and staff are encouraged to vote on Project Ignite!, a student competition promoting technological innovation.
The purpose of the competition is to promote interdisciplinary student involvement that drives ideation, creative exploration and business model development. Student participants collaborate in teams to create an innovative platform that has the potential to develop into a viable technology solution. Student ideas are submitted via the Project Ignite! online platform in the form of team-developed short videos.
The voting period runs from Monday, April 22 to Tuesday, April 30. Top scoring teams will be announced Wednesday, May 1. Submit your vote here. Each voting participant will be allowed four separate votes, with a $25 gift card giveaway each day until the close of voting on April 30 at 11:59 p.m.
Each of the top four teams will earn a $3,000 award to develop their business model and product over the summer. A final competition will yield an additional $7,000 award and space at the Lyles Center Hatchery during academic year 2019-20 for further development of the technology solution.
Project Ignite! was developed through a collaboration between the Technology Services – Hub of Digital Transformation and the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
